Passover is the name given to the one of the three chief festivals celebrated in Israel every year in remembrance of the Lord’s passing over the first born of the houses of Israelites when the first born of the Egyptians were struck dead. It is an everlasting reminder not only to Israel whom God spared and delivered from their oppressors but also to their neighbouring countries who have seen God worked behind the scenes in behalf of the nation of Israel. It is quite interesting to know that Passover served as one of the important landmarks of Israel that thoroughly shaped their entire culture and developed their distinctive unity as a nation.
